Cathedral [ neoclassical music ]

After death metal and grindcore had shattered the speed barriers of the past generation, some veterans of the UK metal/grind scene expanded their repertoire with ultra-slow and thunderous heavy metal/death metal hybrid in the style of Black Sabbath had they been more interested in a midieval gothic mood and more droning, repetitive riffs. This band put out an excellent album, "Forest of Equilibrium," an EP "Soul Sacrifice" and then tanked into mostly predictable heavy stoner rock.
