Hail,
This week's playlist continues more exploration of metallic brutality and
some inventions of perversion to continue the exploration. As has been
recently documented metal is continuing a move into black metal with a
divergent fringe of death metal groups pushing the boundary.
We are fortunate this week to have the new and long-awaited "Millenium" from
Monstrosity swelling our roster; we are honored to be playing this
pre-renowed ark of metallic covenant and believe that many lives will be
changed by this album. Technical, intricate, musical work that continues
the legacy of progressive speed metal and early thunderous death metal: a
combination of the late eighties refrequented by many but never quite
synthesized into such a raw, new, take on this genre. Hail Monstrosity!
Without much further ado...
1. Monstrosity "Millenium" (Conquest Music)
2. Brutal Truth "Kill Trend Suicide" (Relapse)
3. Kataklysm "Temple of Knowledge" (Nuclear Blast)
4. Kvist "For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike" (Avantgarde)
5. Vader "De Profundis" (Conquest Music)
6. Gorgoroth "Antikrist" (Malicious)
7. Niden Div 187 "Towards Judgement" (Necropolis)
8. Pavor "A Pale Debilitating Shade of Autumn" (Imperator)
9. DarkThrone "Total Death" (Moonfog)
