Charity Is Exploitation

Our good will is demanded, to pave the road to Hell.
“I’m collecting for leukemia sufferers,” the man said, smiling hopefully, as he held up a plastic container. “Sorry, I never give to charity”, I responded firmly. The smile dropped as he enquired, nevertheless politely, as to why that was. With a sigh, I patiently explained that the state should pay for such needs, that being the reason we pay our taxes.
“But, they don’t contribute enough”, he interjected. “Well now, that’s not surprising, considering that people are willing to fork out and let them off, is it? If we don’t pay for it , then the government will have to, instead of them spending our money killing Iraqis for example.” The philanthropist realized he wasn‘t going to make me cough up and left.
A society that relies upon charity to function is a failure. I wonder how much money the CEO of that charity was earning. Half a million dollars a year is not unusual. The collector was probably a genuine nice-but-dim fellow, but there was no guarantee. Scam charities abound, and even those that are kosher are seldom as dedicated to good-deedism as donators must hope. Mind you, those who donate to charity do so, in most cases, to alleviate their consciences in some way; out of lack of assertiveness; to avoid seeming misanthropic or, like Bono, because they want to gain publicity and emulate Jesus.
Charities lose much of their money meeting the costs of running the business, being sure to make a profit from it, before leaving a tiny percentage to spend on the intended target. If the recipients live in a country with a reputation for extreme corruption, the contribution generally ends up in some unscrupulous pocket. Even if it doesn’t, and living conditions are improved or famines lessened, all that happens is that the problem is magnified in the next generation. “Charity Multiplies Misery”. Save the lives of defectives and they go on to produce a whole lot more of their kind.
Our governments are meant to be concerned with the protection of their own national interests. Britain supposedly has market “competitors”, with whom we do battle in the free market economy. But politicians lie. Globalism does not allow national interest! This is obvious when we see schools take part in “national non-uniform day”, an event that involves a cash donation for the privilege of wearing casual clothes. In addition to grants from taxpayers, this money has been used to help Indonesia develop clean water facilities. What an act of treason! Why should the Indonesian state, which is financially solvent enough to purchase Hawk jets from our arms industry and wage unethical warfare, ever bother to fund social improvements if suckers like us, “competitors” are willing to pay for it?
Fortunately “charity fatigue” is setting in to the west as people feel increasingly less inclined to help their fellow man. It seems lotteries are the major source now. And so the government has to make up the shortfall. They will help improve the health of foreigners in other countries, from whom we can expect no shred of gratitude. Meanwhile our people find our own hospitals, schools, etc sliding into disrepair and chaos. Globalism requires charity from nations, not competitiveness (which is the prerogative of corporations) and so we are forced into this universalist nightmare.
